ESCAPE TO THE PAST

In the near future, a young girl knocks off a Brinks Armored car, and just as a SWAT team has her surrounded she disappears before their eyes.

A young girl in the near future, Sue, makes plans to steal a lot of money and escape before the police can find her. A rather outrageous plan for most people because the chances of getting caught or killed all along the way are very high. But Sue has taken into account that small detail. Using some new technology she is able to disappear into thin air at will.

The other detail is that by stealing that much money every law enforcement agency in the world will continue to look for her for years, so she wouldn't be safe anywhere and wouldn’t be able to use the money. Which true, except Sue is going to escape to the past. Somewhere in the mid-twentieth century. That improves her odds of remaining off the radar for a long time and living like a Queen in the meantime.

The one factor Sue didn't take into account was getting entangled with other people, especially romantically during her stay in the past. She finds she has to reinvent herself based on what she knows of the mid-twentieth century and try to blend in and not stand out. Her plan works quite well and she is able to avoid most messy entanglements. That is until she meets Scarlett.
