Rose recounts her life among religious extremists, in a dystopian fantasy world. She has had to repress her sexual identity throughout her teen years, due to her domineering and intolerant father. His hatred for lesbians and homosexuals even extends to his own daughter.

Then a teacher, Trish, seemed to be Rose’s salvation, as she guides Rose through the mysteries of lesbian love and sex. It is an ideal situation for Rose as she is able to express her desires to the older woman until they are caught in the throes of passion. Trish accuses Rose of seducing her and though her life is spared she is cast out of her village and separated from her family.

Banished from her village Rose sets out alone with no real idea of where to go. She decides to go deeper into the forest and follow the river that runs through it. Spending the night alone was a challenge for the young girl but fortunately, she survives.

The next morning Rose awakens and she hears something or someone flying through the trees. She realizes she is not alone and maybe in danger, Rose tries to escape toward the river. That decision would change her life forever.
