Cassandra is fired in a humiliating manner from her job at a robotics factory for breaking one of their cardinal rules.

It seemed to Cassandra she had always worked for Tobor Robotics, and the idea that they would just fire her seemed unthinkable. Since she was the head of the HR department it was even more humiliating. She knew she had to act quickly.

She gathered her things from her office and headed home, pondering how she could break the news to her partner, Veronica. When she called home to tell her life partner the bad news she was shocked to hear that the Tobor company's Eliminators are at her home and sanitizing the premises of all evidence of the offense Cassandra has committed.

Veronica made it clear she wanted nothing more to do with Cassandra and the stunned Cassandra thought back over how this entire mess started and tried to think of how to best save herself from more grief. The thoughts of Nina her friend with benefits who now hated her, of course, Victoria, and what of Bee Fore, the kinky alien that started the entire mess.

Then, a near accident wakes Cassandra from her reverie, but not before the large redwood tree hits her car.
